How to Cut and Eat Pomegranate

There is a good number of ways on how to cut and eat pomegranate. Before you can enjoy the juicy pomegranate seeds, they should be separated from the peel as well as the white pulp inside the membranes. Since the pomegranate juice can stain terribly, you should be cautious when cutting and removing pomegranate seeds from this fruit. Firstly, what you need is a sharp knife to cut the pomegranate fruit into half. After that, hold the cut pomegranate fruit over a bowl and smacking it using a large spoon to eject the seeds into the bowl. The remaining seeds deeply embedded on the fruit can be removed by hand with the aid of a spoon.

However, if this fails, you can cut the half into 3 more portions and then remove the seeds using hands. The problem for using this method is that you will lose a lot of pomegranate juice and the process could be a bit messy.

Another better way of separating the pomegranate seeds is by soaking the half-cut fruit in a bowl of water and then remove the seeds using hands. It is much more easy to separate the seeds in this way as the heavier pomegranate seeds tend to sink in water while the white membranes float. After all seeds have been separated, skimmed off the floating white pulp and you will have only pomegranate seeds sunk under the water. Strain out the pomegranate seeds and they are ready to be served.
